Promise

From my small series painting in Winter 2024 while staying at my childhood home with a makeshift painting studio, wood stove for heat, big skies, and beautiful sunsets every day. Every time I come home I am reminded how even though we didn’t have much growing up, I had it all. This series centers memory and nostalgia, grief and love — each painting created with no references, pulling images directly from my mind’s eye, using memory and imagination to articulate some big feelings. I like to think the plastic bags in the images can carry it all. Maybe they can hold some of your feelings too.
