This painting is an ode to the history of queer resilience. The still life includes bricks, a shot glass, a lavendar hankee, and Marsha P. Johnson's flower crown, as well as a reference to one of her protest signs, "power to the people." The Stonewall Riots are some of the best documented events in queer history, and evolved into what we now annually celebrate, Pride.
